F.I.R.S.T. - IN
First In Responder Safety Team
F.I.R.S.T. - IN is a faith based organization responding to disasters worldwide. It consists of volunteers from the Medical profession, Public Safety and people with a heart to help.
Experience has shown that most disasters have three phases:
1. Rescue
2. Recovery
3. Rebuilding
As a F.I.R.S.T. - IN team member, you will concentrate on Phase I - Rescue. This is generally the first 7-10 days following the disaster. Our goal is to be in the affected country by day three and begin assisting in areas where assistance has not been made available. You can expect to be in-country for at least five to six days before returning home. Your total time for the trip will be between 10-14 days, depending on the location of the affected country and the need for a visa.
Each F.I.R.S.T. – IN team will be compromised of six persons; each with a specific responsibility:
1. Team Leader
2. Medical
3. Law Enforcement
4. Law Enforcement
5. Fire
6. Volunteer
