Pastor Kevin Brown
Kevin was born in Highland Park Michigan in 1955. He dropped out of school in 1974 and joined the United States Marine Corps. Kevin’s life long ambition was to be a Police Officer. After honorably discharging from the Marines he worked as a Correctional Officer for the Federal Bureau of Prisons from 1976 to 1977 at Terminal Island, California. In 1978 Kevin became a Deputy Sheriff with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. In 1984 he laterally transferred to the Santa Ana Police Department where he stayed until his service retirement in December of 2005.
Kevin did not have a church background and did not have much knowledge of the Bible or church ideology. In 1994, Kevin had a divine appointment with the God and his life was changed forever in Christ. Kevin had a “Saul of Tarsus” experience and was completely set free from alcohol, pornography and hatred. God’s Spirit changed Kevin’s “Tough Guy” image to a man who would pray for the deliverance and healing of others who were addicted and brokenhearted. Oftentimes in the backseat of his patrol car, while taking people to jail, Kevin would ask the arrestee if they would like prayer. They always accepted!
Kevin was married to the former Teresa Thomason in March 1994 and they have been ministering Side-By-Side ever since.
Having retired from law enforcement, Kevin is now working full time to fulfill God’s vision of “Taking God’s Word To The World.”
Pastor Teresa Brown
Teresa is a California Native, although at eleven years old her family spent five years living in South America as missionaries to Brazil. Returning to the United States in 1980 the burden for Missions continued to grow strong. Teresa left California in 1989 to attend Christ for the Nations Institute outside of Dallas Texas. While attending Bible School the strong desire for serving God in Missions was to her surprise, replaced with a new found desire to personally and intimately know God. The experience of knowing God through a personal relationship redirected her steps on a challenging journey of faith leading her right back to California. For the next few years God’s plans for the future were being processed in the daily steps of learning to hear God’s voice and faithfully joining Him.
In 1992, by no coincidence, Teresa met Kevin Brown whom she married in 1994. During the first year of their marriage, Kevin began to have a desire to go overseas to help the people of Rakai Town, Uganda E. Africa. Now Kevin and Teresa work Side-By-Side ministering locally, nationally and internationally.
