Side-By-Side Church International was founded by Pastors Kevin & Teresa Brown in 1997 under the name of Side-By-Side Front Line Ministries. The ministry started out ministering to the homeless, along with drug and alcohol dependent people.

God lead Kevin to Uganda East Africa to minister and teach God’s Word to leaders and pastors. God’s Holy Spirit began to heal many of the sick, lame and blind during Kevin’s times of teaching. After traveling back and forth between USA and Rakai for two years, Kevin saw the need to teach basic principles of the Bible so the people would be able to grasp the “TRUTHS” of God’s Word.

From here God instilled in both Pastors Kevin & Teresa the need to bring justice to the orphans of third world nations. This in turn developed the vision to build a Primary School and Orphanage in Rakai Town.

Shortly thereafter, Kevin & Teresa began to travel to other nations to minister healing and teach the simple “TRUTHS” of God’s Word. The nations of Malaysia, Rwanda, Uganda, Iran, Haiti and Turkey are some of the nations God has taken them to minister.

A gang intervention was established in Santa Ana California in October of 2000. Three young gang members met with Kevin at a Hamburger stand for a Bible Study. From there the group soared to 60 young people, each with their own story of heart break and abuse. But God’s love would cut through the abuse and hurt to bring healing. Many stayed in school and graduated. Some went on to college and others into the Military.

From there the ministry changed the name to Side-By-Side Church International. This was done to more appropriately reflect what God was doing through the ministry. The ministry had taken on an international vision to see Pastors and Church Leaders trained in God’s Word and to encourage them to believe what God speaks to their hearts.

In August 2002, the ministry began as a church meeting on Sundays renting a conference room at a local hotel. The church moved a short time later to rent a Middle School for Sunday morning services. Recently God has provided a building for the church and the first service was on April 2, 2006.
